Sagrario Perez-Soto

Venezuelan citizen, grew up in Costa Rica and finished studies in Colegio de Sión, San José, Costa Rica in 1955.
Currently, maintains residences in both countries.
Between 1966 and 1975 participated actively in diverse coordinations of Pre-Columbian Archeology activities. For Museo de Bellas Artes, Caracas, presented the exhibition Arte Precolombino de Mexico y Costa Rica, the first of its kind in the Museum. In 1971 co-authored the book Arte Prehispánico de Venezuela with M. Arroyo and J.M. Cruxent, and was appointed guest Director for the exhibit at Sala Mendoza,Caracas that accompanied this publication. Member of the Organization Committee for the first International Congress of Latin- American Archeology which took place in Caracas. Co-founder of the department of Arte Prehispánico at Galería de Arte Nacional, Caracas.
In the field of Visual Arts, was a member of the Board of Directors and also president for several years of the Fundación Amigos Museo de Bellas Artes, Caracas. In 1995 participated actively in the organization to create the Fundación Amigos Museo Alejandro Otero, Caracas, for which was elected afterwards as president. From 2002 to 2004 also participated in the organization of several artistic events for the Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo, Costa Rica, invited by the former director, architect and art curator, Rolando Barahona-Sotela.
In 1995, became board member of Asociación Venezolana de Conciertos, organization founded in 1942, with an old and extraordinary history of presenting musical events in Venezuela.
For several years have been a board member of the Asociación Wagner de Venezuela, an active group that has organized the production of operas such as:  Lohengrin, The Magic Flute, and with the direct collaboration of the Wagner Festival of Bayreuth presented, for the first time in Venezuela, The Walkirye. Other concerts have been by the Camerata Salzburg, Berliner Symphoniker, among others. Also recitals, with world-renowned figures, like Daniel Barenboim. Nowadays, as part of the group, active in promoting conferences and travels to musical festivals.
President of Asociación Wagner de Costa Rica. 
Member of the The International Mozarteum Foundation and of the Friends of Bayreuth.
Board Member of the Latin American Acquisitions Committee, Tate Modern, London .
In Costa Rica, invited by the former director MADC and international curator Virginia Perez-Raton, president of the board of Directors of Teorética, a non-profit center for the promotion of contemporary art, founded by Perez-Ratton.
