José Pedro Zenteno is a native of Santiago, Chile. He began his piano studies with Professor Ruth Sánchez when he was 7 years old, and continued his studies with noted pianist Frida Conn. He received his Bachelors in Music at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he studied with Professor Rebecca Penneys. He has participated in masterclasses with leading pianists of the world. Among the distinctions and awards received are: First Place ALAPP Piano Competition in 2004, First Place in the International Claudio Arrau Piano Competition in 2006, and the Faculty Award at the Chautauqua Summer Festival in 2010. José Pedro has recently appeared in concert in Chile, Argentina, the United States, Spain, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. José Pedro is currently at New York University where he is pursuing a Masters in Music and an Advanced Certificate in Arts Administration. José Pedro is not only invested in performing piano literature, but also in serving the movement of social transformation through early music education.
